About the Position

Synthesia is the world's leading AI video platform for business. The role is for a Senior/Staff Fullstack Engineer with backend leaning, working end-to-end with React and Python, owning projects, and collaborating with product managers.

Responsibilities

  • Work end-to-end, contributing to the client application written in React and the monolithic backend written in Python, and managing the safe release of features to the customer base.
  • Have sole ownership of projects that span months, requiring the ability to break a problem down into small steps that can be delivered and validated iteratively.
  • Work directly with the product manager responsible for the project, ideating and focusing on the commercial problem, and shaping the direction of the product.
  • Evaluate own work, leveraging the data pipeline and established frameworks to understand the impact of features on commercial objectives and pivot where necessary.
  • Consider the long-term direction of the team, developing engineering capabilities to stay ahead of challenges in 6-12 months.

Requirements

  • At least seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer, at least 3 on the senior/lead level.
  • Experience in a high-performing engineering team that is operating at scale.
  • Ability to work across the stack, with deep knowledge on server side and all things back end related.
  • Relevant engineering experience for a team building an enterprise-grade SaaS product delivering AI-powered video generation; billing systems, experimentation platforms, video delivery systems, online editors, real-time collaboration, etc.
  • Strong alignment with commercial success.
  • Previous leadership experience of smaller teams is a plus.
