Senior Software Developer

Sherpa is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to build AI solutions that go live at clients like Jumbo Maritime, Nsea, Royal Smilde, Vorm and Kuijpers. You will develop Python and React/TypeScript applications on Azure, bringing products from idea to stable production environment.

• Develop full-stack applications and bring them to production, building Python services and APIs on the back-end and React and TypeScript applications on the front-end, running on Azure.
• Bring AI from proof of concept to production, developing multi-turn agents, retrieval solutions based on business documents, and integrations with tools like Microsoft 365, Copilot, and ERP systems such as Exact and AFAS.
• Implement software in production environments, delivering solutions that IT departments trust: secure, maintainable, and designed from the ground up according to European regulations.
• Monitor technical quality by writing clean, well-tested, and easily reviewable code, helping to further develop the technical standard within the team.
• Work with people, not just code: collaborate with clients and colleagues, translate business questions into working software, and explain technical solutions understandably to non-technical stakeholders.
• Keep it pragmatic: always choose the simplest solution that delivers the most value, smart deployment instead of over-engineering.

• About 5 to 8 years of experience developing and successfully delivering software in production environments, end-to-end responsible for features.
• Strong full-stack skills: Python on the back-end and React + TypeScript on the front-end.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure (App Service, Functions, containers), including modern CI/CD processes.
• A practical view on AI: experience with or strong interest in LLM-based applications (Azure OpenAI, agents and RAG).
• A human-centered way of working, designing solutions for the people who actually use them.
• Strong communication skills towards clients: clear, pragmatic and reliable.
• Fluent in Dutch (native speaker).
• Pré: experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/Terraform), Azure AI Foundry, containers, and consultancy or client-oriented software development.
