Backend Engineer

You will join the Partner Messaging team who is responsible for developing, maintaining, and modernizing core messaging services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and future readiness.

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality backend services in a high-traffic environment
• Contribute to system design decisions with a focus on scalability, resilience, and maintainability
• Modernize existing services and help future-proof the messaging platform
• Collaborate closely with engineers across the full stack
• Take ownership of services from development to production
• Actively contribute to a culture of learning, feedback, and continuous improvement

• Strong experience with Java
• Solid understanding of system design and distributed systems
• Experience working in cloud-based environments (preferably AWS)
• Familiarity with GraphQL and event-driven architectures (Kafka is a plus)
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as VueJS is a plus
• Experience modernizing legacy systems is highly valued
