Enterprise Integration Architect

Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine is seeking an Enterprise Integration Architect to define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, own the integration strategy, and govern integration standards. The role involves working with APIs, event streaming, and legacy integration patterns in a large banking IT environment with over 900 IT specialists.

• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and roadmaps aligned with the bank's business strategy
• Own and evolve the bank's enterprise integration architecture and integration strategy, ensuring a coherent approach across APIs, events, messaging, batch/file integration, and legacy integration patterns
• Define the target architecture and roadmap for the enterprise integration layer, including API Management, Event Streaming, Integration/iPaaS capabilities, service connectivity, and integration with legacy and core banking platforms
• Drive development of the enterprise API and integration ecosystem, ensuring reusable, secure, observable, and well-governed integration capabilities across business domains and tribes
• Establish and govern enterprise integration standards and patterns, including synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture, request/reply, data synchronization, batch integration, and integration with external partners
• Own and evolve the enterprise API, Event and Integration Catalog, providing visibility of available APIs, events, interfaces, dependencies, ownership, lifecycle status, and reuse opportunities across the bank
• Define governance and lifecycle management for APIs and events, including naming conventions, versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation, ownership, SLAs/SLOs, security requirements, and documentation standards
• Establish principles for API-first and Event-driven architecture, reducing point-to-point integrations and increasing reuse and interoperability between domains
• Define clear boundaries and responsibilities between domain services, integration platforms, data platforms, and shared enterprise capabilities
• Facilitate integration architecture decisions for cross-domain initiatives and resolve dependencies and conflicts between tribes and systems
• Develop and govern the Enterprise Architecture framework across application, data, integration, and technology domains
• Maintain and evolve the enterprise application portfolio (1,000+ applications), driving rationalization, modernization, and technical debt reduction
• Lead Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes — evaluate solution designs, ensure compliance with EA principles, and provide architectural decisions on cross-domain initiatives
• Review major solution architectures with particular attention to integration design, service boundaries, coupling, resilience, scalability, security, and reuse of existing enterprise capabilities
• Own and manage the Technology Radar — assess emerging technologies, define technology standards and lifecycle policies, and guide adoption and sunset decisions
• Collaborate with tribe leads, product owners, solution architects, platform teams, and business stakeholders to align technology investments with business priorities across 10 domains
• Drive adoption of industry frameworks and standards such as TOGAF, BIAN, and ArchiMate to ensure architectural consistency and banking domain alignment
• Apply BIAN concepts to improve service boundaries, domain ownership, API design, and interoperability between banking capabilities
• Conduct architecture maturity assessments, identify capability gaps, and define improvement roadmaps, including integration architecture maturity and platform adoption
• Provide strategic guidance on data architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance and regulatory requirements
• Facilitate cross-tribe architectural alignment, resolve architectural conflicts, and ensure coherent end-to-end solution design
• Work with platform and engineering teams to improve integration observability, reliability, security, and operational governance, including monitoring of APIs, events, message flows, dependencies, and service-level objectives
• Identify redundant interfaces, duplicate APIs, point-to-point integrations, and obsolete integration technologies, and define modernization and decommissioning roadmaps
• Mentor and coach solution architects and engineering leads, fostering architecture thinking and integration design excellence across teams
• Communicate architecture strategy, decisions, roadmaps, and trade-offs to C-level stakeholders and technical audiences alike

• 7-10+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years in enterprise, integration, or solution architecture roles, preferably in banking or financial services
• Strong hands-on background in enterprise integration architecture, including designing large-scale integration landscapes and defining integration strategies and standards
• Strong expertise in: API architecture and API Management, REST and asynchronous API patterns, Event-driven architecture, Kafka and event streaming, messaging technologies, ESB and iPaaS platforms, service integration, external/partner integrations, legacy and core banking integration
• Practical experience designing or governing enterprise integration platforms/layers and defining their target architecture and evolution roadmap
• Experience implementing API and Event governance, including API/event catalogs, ownership models, versioning, lifecycle management, documentation, security standards, and reuse policies
• Understanding of integration patterns and anti-patterns, including point-to-point integration, orchestration vs choreography, transactional integration, eventual consistency, idempotency, retries, dead-letter handling, and distributed system resilience
• Strong understanding of API security approaches including OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, token management, authorization, rate limiting, and API gateway security controls
• Experience with enterprise API Management or integration technologies such as Kong, Apigee, MuleSoft, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, Kafka, Confluent, or equivalent platforms
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and modeling notations (ArchiMate, UML, BPMN)
• Hands-on experience with EA tooling (LeanIX, Ardoq, MEGA, or similar) for portfolio management, dependency mapping, capability modeling, and architecture repository management
• Deep understanding of banking domains such as core banking, payments, lending, customer onboarding, KYC/AML, cards, accounting, and regulatory compliance
• Experience with BIAN Service Landscape and its practical application to domain decomposition, service boundaries, and integration architecture
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid infrastructure strategies, including Kubernetes, Docker, service connectivity, and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with data architecture concepts including data products, data mesh/data fabric, master data management, data governance, and analytics platforms
• Knowledge of modern software engineering and architecture practices including DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, and observability
• Proven experience in technology portfolio governance, technology radar management, lifecycle policies, build-vs-buy analysis, and vendor assessment
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — ability to translate complex integration and architecture topics into clear business implications for executive audiences
• Experience facilitating Architecture Review Boards, architecture workshops, and cross-functional alignment sessions
• Strategic thinking combined with pragmatic execution — ability to define long-term target architecture while supporting incremental modernization of a complex legacy banking landscape
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
• TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification
• BIAN certification or strong practical BIAN implementation experience
• Experience establishing or transforming an enterprise integration platform / integration layer in a large financial institution
• Experience building enterprise API and Event Catalogs and introducing API-first / Event-driven governance at scale
• Experience with Agile at scale and architecture practices within tribe/squad organizational structures
• Background in core banking migration, modernization, or large-scale transformation programs
• Experience modernizing ESB/legacy integration landscapes toward APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration patterns, agent/API integration, and data-driven architecture approaches
• Experience with business capability modeling and IT strategy development
