Full Stack Engineer (Europe)

Kalepa is an AI startup building professional-grade AI systems for the insurance industry. The Full Stack Engineer role involves working on advanced systems including NLP, firmographic data, entity resolution, and collaborating on scalable backend solutions with a global team.

• Solving interesting problems at the intersection of large and performant data pipelines, distributed systems, machine learning models, and robust infrastructure
• Collaborating with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers to build scalable and reliable backend solutions

• Have 3+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems
• Have experience with a modern frontend framework, preferably React
• Know JavaScript and TypeScript, and are comfortable in Python — though we're open to strong candidates from other OO backgrounds
• Have strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem solving
• Are comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Have experience with cloud environments, serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), and asynchronous workflows
• Take ownership of your work and drive projects to completion with limited oversight
• Communicate proactively, surfacing blockers, asking the right questions, and keeping stakeholders in the loop
• Enjoy iterative improvement and care deeply about quality
• Are curious about AI, data, and real-world applications of machine learning
• Move fast, learn quickly, and value high standards
