Senior SLAM Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior SLAM Engineer for a full-time position in Ukraine. The client is an American mobile computing company providing AI innovation and acceleration, working on CV and GenAI solutions with emphasis on device inference. The role involves designing and improving SLAM algorithms, evaluating modern approaches, and collaborating with engineering and research teams.

• Design, implement, and improve SLAM algorithms and related localization and mapping components.
• Evaluate and apply modern SLAM approaches based on product and project requirements.
• Improve the robustness, accuracy, and performance of localization and mapping solutions.
• Analyze algorithm performance, identify limitations, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and research teams on integration, testing, and optimization.
• Stay current with recent research, frameworks, and best practices in SLAM and robotic perception.

• Strong practical experience with SLAM.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
• Good knowledge of recent SLAM approaches and developments in the field.
• Understanding of optimization techniques commonly used in SLAM.
• Experience working with real-world sensor data and debugging complex perception systems.
• Ability to independently investigate technical problems and deliver effective, outcome-focused solutions.
