Senior QA Automation Engineer

Toptal is a global network of top talent in business, design, and technology that enables companies to scale their teams, on-demand. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will focus on maintaining and improving test coverage of tools, working within a small team to develop AI-powered platforms.

• Define, test, and validate software web applications and Slack bots
• Maintain and improve automated test suites in RSpec, Jest, Playwright, and Cypress
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs
• Review work from white box and black box perspectives
• Improve team processes and communicate progress
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders
• Write Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done for features
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents
• Track quality assurance metrics like defect densities
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies
• Mentor team members

• 5+ years of Quality Assurance and test automation
• Proficiency in RSpec, Jest, and Cypress
• Familiarity with Playwright, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with white box and black box testing
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools for frontend and backend applications
• Experience with Version Control systems (Git), Bug Tracking Software (Jira), CI tools
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
