Full Stack Engineer (Java & JavaScript)

MWDN is a global IT outstaffing company connecting tech talent with leading companies. The client is an Israeli technology company developing an AI-powered platform for code analysis and modernization. They are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join their engineering team.

• Analyze and understand legacy and unfamiliar codebases using the company's AI-powered platform.
• Validate the platform's analysis and provide detailed feedback on its results and capabilities.
• Work on code modernization, including migrations, architectural improvements and monolith-to-microservices transformations.
• Use the platform and AI tools to explore how existing systems can be reverse-engineered and forward-engineered.
• Help identify missing functionality and suggest product improvements based on real engineering experience.
• Collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to improve the process of working with legacy codebases.

• 5 years of full-stack development experience, with strong backend experience in Java
• Experience working with legacy systems and large or poorly documented codebases
• Experience with a modern frontend framework, such as React, Vue or Angular
• Experience with migrations, upgrades or monolith-to-microservices projects
• Strong testing experience: characterization tests, parity checks, safe refactoring
• Daily use of AI coding tools, with the ability to evaluate their output critically
• At least Upper-Intermediate level of English
• Experience with MCP servers or building context for AI agents (nice to have)
• Experience with gradual migration techniques, such as moving functionality piece by piece and switching between old and new code safely (nice to have)
• JavaScript/TypeScript, COBOL or mainframe exposure (nice to have)
• Experience working on client sites or inside a client's team (nice to have)
