Full-Stack Web Developer

Farm Family is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to design, build, and support scalable web applications. The role involves working across front-end, back-end, and data layers, with technologies like React, TypeScript, and NestJS. Must be within commuting distance of Omaha, NE or Albany, NY.

• Design and develop modern 3‑tier web applications across front-end, back‑end, and data layers
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, system integrations, and reusable services
• Translate business requirements into clear, maintainable technical solutions
• Deliver complex features end‑to‑end, including development, automated testing, deployment, and validation
• Make informed technical decisions that balance long‑term maintainability with business needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on root‑cause analysis
• Collaborate closely with product owners, QA, architects, and cross‑functional engineering teams
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering practices and standards
• Support cloud‑based deployments, performance tuning, and scalability initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Equivalent experience or relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 4+ years of professional web development experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with REST API development; React, JavaScript/TypeScript; and Writing optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and working with relational databases
• Ability to read/parse JSON and XML, and write unit/integration tests
• Experience with Git and modern version‑control workflows
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and cybersecurity standards
• Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments
• Background in insurance or financial services
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automated deployments
• Experience with NestJS and Node.js
