Senior React / React Native Engineer

N-iX is looking for a Senior React / React Native Engineer to join our client’s Experience Platform engineering group. The client is a leading Canadian online brokerage and wealth management fintech company. The role involves leading technical design and implementation across React Native and ReactJS applications, building Node.js/TypeScript services, and mentoring engineers.

• Lead technical design and implementation of complex features across React Native and ReactJS applications
• Build and maintain Node.js/TypeScript services and RESTful APIs supporting web and mobile platforms
• Drive application performance improvements, including rendering optimization, memory profiling, and bundle size reduction
• Break down complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and deliverable increments
• Establish and promote best practices for code quality, testing, security, observability, and operational excellence
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and application release processes
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Security teams to deliver scalable and compliant solutions
• Participate in incident response activities and support production systems when required
• Evaluate and adopt modern engineering and AI-powered development tools to improve team productivity

• 6+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software systems
• 5+ years of commercial experience with React Native or ReactJS and at least 1+ year of experience with the complementary technology
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, component architecture, and state management solutions
• 1+ year of hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience designing, building, or consuming RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure is also acceptable)
• Practical experience with CI/CD processes and containerized environments
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and influencing engineering decisions
• Strong communication skills and upper-intermediate or higher English level
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Nice to have: Experience with real-time data streaming technologies such as WebSockets, Kafka, or Google Pub/Sub

• Nice to have: Exposure to native iOS/Android development and native module integration
