R&D Engineer

The Fourth Law is a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of autonomy technologies for drones, recognized for innovative solutions used by various military and drone manufacturers. The role involves ensuring the functional evolution of autonomous robotic platforms, turning engineering hypotheses into validated, integrated features.

• Full cycle feature development from research to production-ready code
• Viability assessment of new hardware through technical research and benchmarking
• Mathematical calculations and basic physical modeling for planning
• Performance optimization and implementation improvements for real-time efficiency
• Architectural integration of new features using software patterns
• Seamless hardware/software integration with custom Linux environment
• Participation in Scrum ceremonies with ownership over features

• Proven ability to perform system calculations and model impacts on mobile robotic platforms
• Functional proficiency in C++ for production implementation and strong Python for research
• Deep understanding of architectural models and software patterns
• Confident in custom Linux environments and OS-hardware interaction
• Documented experience moving complex features from concept to deployed product
• Experience with MAVLink, ELRS, ROS/ROS2, PX4 or ArduPilot is a plus
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Gazebo or Python-based physics libraries is a plus
• Understanding of TensorFlow Lite or ONNX on edge devices is a plus
• Basic familiarity with Buildroot or The Yocto Project is a plus
