Security Engineer Firewall

As a Security Engineer at Simac, you will ensure the safety of IT services and manage thousands of firewalls for clients including prominent companies like Jumbo and PSV. You will work closely with a team of security engineers and network experts, contributing to varied security solutions and engaging in challenging projects.

• Manage firewalls, including installation, updates, and administration
• Collaborate with team members and clients to address incidents and changes
• Support migration projects and ensure smooth operations as 2nd line support
• Work on small replacement projects and large upgrade trajectories

• Experience as a security engineer in large, complex IT environments
• Proven ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
• Strong drive to automate routine tasks to minimize errors and optimize work processes
• Relevant experience in security engineering with a passion for automation (Terraform/Ansible)
• HBO work and thinking level, preferably IT-focused, with relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Fortinet NSE)
• Experience with Scrum/Kanban, CI/CD, DevOps, and Git
• Willingness to further develop security knowledge and obtain certificates on company sponsorship
• Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English
