Machine Learning & Agentic AI Engineer

ABN AMRO is seeking a Machine Learning & Agentic AI Engineer to join the CISO Cyber Defence team. The role involves designing and implementing Agentic workflows, building and deploying machine learning models for cybersecurity, and working with large datasets. The team focuses on scaling detection and response capabilities using AI.

• Design and implement Agentic workflows that strengthen security controls and enhance automation.
• Identify problems and opportunities within the Cyber Defence domain, using data science to address them.
• Work closely with stakeholders to determine business value and guide them toward optimal solutions.
• Build deep domain knowledge and perform extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of large, complex datasets to make them fit for purpose.
• Apply state-of-the-art statistical and data science techniques, balancing simplicity and sophistication where appropriate.
• Evaluate and deploy machine learning models effectively in production environments.
• Communicate results and insights clearly to stakeholders, fostering cooperation and alignment.
• Educate end-users to maximize the value of implemented solutions.
• Assist and mentor junior team members, providing guidance in their daily activities.
• Actively contribute to team learning by hosting or initiating knowledge-sharing sessions to improve overall team efficiency and expertise.

• A quantitative MSc, PhD, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 3+ years of work experience in data science or machine learning.
• Proficiency in Machine Learning algorithms (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
• Strong expertise in techniques like AKS and MCP.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, KQ, and SQL.
• Expertise in statistics, mathematics, and experiment design.
• Proficiency in implementing Agentic workflows.
• Proficiency in ETL processes and working with big data systems.
• Strong consultancy skills to identify and address real problems.
• Ability to mentor and coach junior team members.
• Creativity and collaboration skills, team player.
• Comfortable working on multiple concurrent projects while managing priorities.
