Tech Lead, Engineering

• Lead the design and evolution of scalable backend architectures, distributed systems, and high-performance data solutions.
• Drive technical strategy by identifying and prioritizing impactful engineering and product challenges aligned with business objectives.
• Own key architectural decisions involving databases, APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, and system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure technical initiatives deliver measurable business value.
• Guide teams through execution by mentoring engineers, facilitating alignment, and promoting strong engineering practices.
• Optimize relational database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, transaction management, and concurrency control.
• Ensure platforms remain efficient, secure, scalable, and resilient under real-world production workloads.
• Promote pragmatic decision-making, balancing technical quality, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.

• Extensive experience in software engineering, including strong technical leadership within SaaS or distributed system environments.
• Advanced expertise in relational databases and SQL, including query optimization, indexing, transactions, and concurrency handling.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, message queues, microservices, load balancing, and asynchronous processing.
• Solid backend engineering foundations with experience in APIs, system architecture, object-oriented programming, and Node.js/TypeScript.
• Ability to design end-to-end scalable systems while making business-driven technical trade-offs.
• Proven ability to influence engineering teams and stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React and understanding of frontend/backend integration and performance considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively, scale impact through teams, and lead in highly collaborative remote environments.
