About the Position
For the Process Automation Enablement department, we are looking for a Software Engineer (x|f|m) AI for Sartorius Stedim Systems GmbH, who develops high-quality software and actively shapes how modern software development is implemented within the team.
Responsibilities
- Drive the adoption of AI-supported development practices (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code), define best practices, coach team members, and continuously improve productivity and development quality
- Gather, analyze, and define requirements for new and complex software solutions in alignment with product managers, based on customer feedback and in close collaboration with internal product development teams
- Develop robust and maintainable software systems using prototyping, clear software design, and active participation in design reviews
- Write clearly structured, high-quality, and maintainable code optimized for performance and memory efficiency
- Create comprehensive design, functional, and test documentation to ensure software quality
- Implement automated tests at unit-test level as well as within nightly regression test frameworks
- Ensure the proper functioning of software and hardware systems
Requirements
- A completed degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable natural science field
- At least 5 years of practical experience in the development of commercial software products
- Strong development skills with proven expertise in .NET (C#), TypeScript, React, and microservices architectures
- Solid, proven knowledge of object-oriented software development combined with a collaborative team-oriented mindset
- Experience with modern software engineering processes and methods as well as all phases of the software development lifecycle
- Experience with or strong interest in AI-supported software development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and their effective use in a professional environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of initiative and a strong results orientation
- Willingness to support technical support teams as well as other product development teams when needed
