About the Position
Handy Finance is a leading Australian fintech seeking a Digital Designer to own the digital surfaces including website, application flow, and mobile app. The role sits at the intersection of marketing and product, focusing on designing clear, conversion-optimized experiences.
Responsibilities
- Website design and CRO - owning the UI, UX, and ongoing conversion optimisation of handyfinance.com.au.
- Product UI/UX - designing and iterating on our personal loan application flow, customer portal, and mobile app experience.
- Design system - maintaining the Figma component library for product and web.
- UX improvement - translating customer feedback, heatmaps, and funnel data into design improvements that lift performance.
- Front-end support - working in HTML & CSS alongside our engineers, able to implement or adjust components directly rather than always waiting for a developer.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in digital design, UX design or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–6 years of digital or product design experience, with a portfolio that includes both web and mobile/app work.
- Strong UX thinking. You approach design problems from the user’s perspective first, and you understand how design decisions affect conversion and trust in a financial product.
- Highly proficient in Figma, including prototyping and component libraries; this is where our product design workflow lives.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams. You know how to hand off designs clearly, write specs, and follow up on implementation quality.
- Competent HTML and CSS skills. You can read, write, and contribute to front-end code to implement and adjust designs without always needing an engineer.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a 'can do, will do' team player attitude.
- A passion for continuous improvement with great attention to detail.
Benefits
- A competitive salary to reward the very best.
- A collaborative, respectful and fun team culture where you will work closely with executive management.
- A broad spectrum of challenging work on which to showcase your skills.
- A place where you can make a huge impact.
