Why did you choose this stack or direction

The point of the answer is to show that you genuinely want to work in this direction. The answer rests on three blocks, not on a list of technologies.

#Example for frontend

I have always enjoyed building something visual and seeing the result immediately. Frontend combines logic, design and interaction with the user, and that combination is what appeals to me. I like that you can test ideas quickly here, improve UX and see real engagement metrics. Right now I am developing in React and Next.js, and I am interested in frontend architecture and performance: not just "drawing buttons" but building interfaces that are pleasant to maintain.

I have always been curious about how things work under the hood, from the request to the database. Backend lets you design the logic, optimise performance and build systems that scale. I enjoy hard logical problems and laying out architecture. Right now I am developing in Node.js and NestJS, working with databases through an ORM and thinking through service architecture: predictability and stability matter to me.

#Example for DevOps

Systems have always interested me: how they work, scale and hold up under load. DevOps is about reliability, automation and engineering thinking, and it joins development and operations together. Right now I am developing in Docker, CI/CD and monitoring: I care that everything is automated, observable and stable in production.

• "It just worked out that way" or "it pays well" as the only reason.
• A list of technologies with nothing about interest.
• An answer that would fit any direction equally well.
• Naming a direction you are in fact doing nothing in.
